Serbian Prime Minister Vucic says Belgrade is seat of cosmopolitan spirit

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic opened in Belgrade on Thursday the Capital Summit 2015 which gathers mayors and businessmen from 13 cities in central and south-east Europe

Addressing the participants of the summit at Belgrade's Sava Center, Vucic underscored that Belgrade is the seat of the cosmopolitan spirit in the territory of the Western Balkans.

Brussels should show that Serbia's steps were not in vain

We are proud of this, we celebrate differences and I believe that this is the best invitation for everyone in Europe to come to Belgrade and Serbia and feel good here, the prime minister said.

Vucic said that difficult reforms are being carried out in Serbia, adding that the forecast for economic recovery for 2016 is already good and that Serbia is a good destination for investors.

The summit of mayors gathered high representatives of the EU, international institutions and the diplomatic corps, as well as city architects, town planners and public enterprise directors.

Participants in the summit will work in panels to discuss problems in the functioning of capital cities, functioning of major infrastructural projects, increase of energy efficiency and one of the panels will also focus on European integration.
