Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said in an interview with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Latvia, Edgars Rinkevics, that the EU path is a priority to Serbia.
With the Foreign Minister of the country which currently holds the EU presidency he discussed the integration of the strategic foreign policy as a priority of Serbia.
- Serbia has done a lot on its European path and is thoroughly preparing for a membership - said the Serbian Prime Minister, stating that the screening process is completed with great success and it would be expected that the European Union, in the opening of its negotiating chapter, accelerates the negotiation process with Serbia.

Minister Rinkevics said that the European Union highly appreciates the reforms undertaken by the Government of Serbia and that Latvia, which is chaired by the Union in the first half of the year,is ready to help, through a joint effort, to achieve the goal of opening the first negotiation chapter.
- If it were to come to that by the end of the Latvian Presidency of the European Union, it would be our success - the minister said to Rinkevics.
