They are building a new bridge over the Sava River

In order to finish the full profile of the Belgrade highway bypass, 14 more kilometers are necessary to make the second lane from Ostruznica to Strazevica.

The construction of a new bridge over the Sava river in Belgrade, whose tender will be announced in May was announced today by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Construction, Infrastructure and Traffic, Miodrag Poledica.

-The new bridge near Ostruznica will be financed from savings from the European Investment Bank (EIB) for an amount of 30 million euros. Work on the bridge is expected at the beginning of the construction season - said Poledica. He pointed out that with the completion of the bridge, on the bypass around Belgrade, there will be a full profile of the highway with six lanes from Batajnicki loop to Ostruznica.

According to the words of Poledica, in order to complete the full profile of the Belgrade highway bypass, 14 more kilometers are necessary to make the second lane from Ostruznica to Strazevica, and 10 kilometers to Bubanj Potok. The preliminary design for the road includes a railway bypass from Bubanj Potok to Pancevo, with another bridge across the Danube, near Vinca.

-It is necessary to build 30 kilometers of highway from Bubanj Potok to Pancevo. This is a large investment. We are negotiating with Chinese partners to find a way to get it funded under the public-private partnership or concession. These negotiations are ongoing - said the Secretary of the State.
