"Balkan group" of cocaine smugglers arrested in Spain!
Croatia's Jutarnji List newspaper is reporting that "a Serb, a Croat, and a Montenegrin" have been arrested in Spain on drug trafficking charges
Quoting Spanish media, the daily said they were caught while attempting to smuggle nearly 300 kilograms of cocaine.
The Infraganti yacht was intercepted on Friday near Valencia. Spanish police found 289 kilograms of the narcotic of "extremely high purity" on board the vessel.
According to reports, the three men thew some of the cocaine overboard once they realized the police had discovered them.
They also threw into the sea a navigation device that is believed to contain the data about the yacht's "final destination."
Police divers are now looking for the device, hoping to use it as evidence, as it could reveal where "the Balkan smugglers," as the local media are referring to the suspects, were headed to.
The value of the drugs seized during the police operation is about EUR 15 million.
