PRODUCTIVE SERBIAN VILLAGE WITH 300 CHILDREN: No unemployed, kindergarten full of children!
No unemployment in Kukujevo. They function like the developed European countries so more and more young people decide to live and work in it
Residents of Kukujevac near Sid live and work like in the most developed countries of Europe. No unemployment. Young people have a job in their own village and they easily decide whether to have children so the kindergarten is becoming full.
There is an industry of meat in Kukujevo called ''Agropapuk'' in which work 200 residents. In ''Ratar2'' and ''Rit'', people found 150 positions, the goat factory ''Beokapra'' that produces famous cheese became a workplace for 35 of them and the import-export house ''Asoler2'' employed 15 people.
There are also village brewery, different shops, farmacy, veterinary, coffee shops in which around 50 people from Kukujevo are employed.
But the most profitable are tobacco plantations. Exactly 100 households grow tobacco on on more than 1.200 hectares, which is by far the largest plantation in Serbia.
- Only minors don't work here. In last year's August we had exactly 293 children under 15. Today the number is more than 300, and it will grow. At St. Sava's day fourth child was born since January. In February six more women gave birth. That increment is higher than the surrounding villages combined - proudly reports Miroslav Stojcevic, the president of Kukujevo and the nearest kin to our deceased Patriarch Pavle.
Today's Kukujevo is made of people who traded house with Croatians who lived there twenty years ago. They quickly adjusted even though they came from 160 different places.
The community's budget is 4,2 million dinars of which 2,4 is made by Kukujevo itself and the county provides 1,8.
An almost impossible story in Serbia these days, but true nonetheless.
