FLOODS IN SERBIA: 27 people evacuated from Koceljeva!

- I would like to make an appeal to the citizens of Obrenovac. We have scouted the area, made air footage and there is no reason to be deceiving anyone. We didn't do that in May, we will not do it now. No need to panic, this situation cannot be compared to the one in May - told the emergency supervisor in the Ministry of Interior

The area of Sabac was the most endangered one during last night, but the most important thing is that there were no casualties and 27 people were evacuated from Koceljeva, said Predrag Maric for Radio television of Serbia.

The emergency supervisor in the Ministry of Interior explained that this is the part with no defenses where river floods every time some serious precipitation occurs.

He stated that there is no reason to panic due to recent serious precipitation.

- I would like to make an appeal to citizens of Obrenovac. We have scouted the area, made air footage and there is no reason to be deceiving anyone. We didn't do that in May, we will not do it now. No need to panic, this situation cannot be compared to the one in May - told the emergency supervisor in the Ministry of Interior.

- The day is calmer than the night but we will be on stand-by just in case - said Maric and went on to say that local authorities themselves are more serious this time, cleaning the channels on time.

He added that there has been an issue with evacuation in Koceljeva and that it is why there is going to be a change in the law on emergency in May.
