Young Croat taught a lesson to his fellow countrymen: I am tired of raping of the past, of great Croats, Serbs, Chetniks, Ustashas...
Verbal conflicts on social networks between Croats and Serbs, as well as political, street, media bickering over all past events, have destroyed the happiness brought by Croatia's successes at the World Cup in football, according to Marin Bukvic, an actor from Croatia. On his Facebook profile, he taught a lesson to his compatriots and said that he had enough of the clutter between Croats and Serbs, but he explained how he perceives all of it since he now lives in America, far away from his homeland.
This is his entire text:
"It is over. I am tired. Sad. From hatred and stupidity... from spent topics. Innocent minds. Dare to do it...
I walked over Hollywood the other day, I was going through Facebook and I was sad because I wasn't home to share the pride and sense of community. I wished to switch the promised land with my homeland. People around me spoke the name of the small country that became great. It was united. Croatia was united. It became unimportant who had a badge, who was gay and who was straight, Serb or a Jew. I was sure that this great fiery silver will remain untainted. To love each other at least for a little. Up to the moment when politicians became more important than the historical success, someone else's taste in music and religion. Too short. The snakes started hissing. It was the beginning of the end. The days of the pride were over, the days of poisoning came. Dare to remain dignified!
It is enough. I got sick. From all kinds of condemnation, the ridicule of different, nationalism, great Croats, Serbs, Chetniks, partisans, Ustashas, left and right. I got sick of celebrating ideologies that no longer exist. Of people and their innocent minds. We still lost the battle. The moral one. Humane. I read illiterate comments and I'm terrified. Those who disagree with us, they are traitors, Chetnik whores, haters of all Croats. You have no shame, individuals. They are smaller than the ball that has glorified us in the world. The focus should remain on the fact that we second out of 270 nations of the world. SECOND. S-E-C-O-N-D. Dare to be proud!
Shadows of worn-out topics fell over the Facebook squares of pride. We will never understand. Serbs, Chetniks, fagots, and refugees are the least problem in Croatia. The problem is those who steal from us while we are screwing around with stupid topics that amuse them. What would our country look like if we used the energy for on topics that will bring us the better tomorrow? We are our own worst enemy. We are screwing up our selves. Did it really become socially acceptable to curse someone's mother because they listen (or not) Tompson or they (don't) support the hugs and tears of the president? Dare to resist!
While I sit here and write, my vlog about traveling in Serbia on my Youtube channel is just hitting 115.000 views. The video about the marriage of Croat and Serb became a war front for butchering. And while I spoke about love, others counted my blood drops and they dared to enter the vagina of the woman who gave birth to me. Forgive me, mother, they will never understand what is love. Dare to understand!
In the moments while there are discussions who was where in '91, and the national team is falling into oblivion, the movie "Mamma Mia" was released for the world premiere, which was filmed on our islands. I've seen it last night, I admired the beauties of small paradise and I thought it will be the best place in the world when people reprogram themselves to the "future". But why talk about that when the world cinemas are full of scenes from Croatia which still didn't exhaust the subjects of Independent State of Croatia? Dare to move on!
I am sitting on a beach near Los Angeles and I am sad again. While the world admires us, we are shitting in the mouths. I am sorry, I am really sorry that Zdravko Mamic is not in the country to put all of the haters on his d**k. Twice. Don't eat sh*t when burek is just nine kunas. And no one should dare to say that I don't respect the innocent victims of the war. I am just letting them sleep in peace and eternity when they were sent they wrongly. And I won't! I won't let you steal my future. I don't want to and I won't hate. I won't judge people different from myself and I won't make fun of them. Dare to do it!
I want a land of love, pride, unity, and happiness. I want Croatia as it was during those few hours of the welcoming party. I want my heart to skip a beat when someone mentions the most beautiful, small, and now also a great country. I want to come to the country where I don't desire to leave in the next few months. Dare to turn to the future!
A country smaller than a European city, shining in the world. My heart stopped in finals in the 86th minute when an American commentator on FOX said: "Croatian boys fought and lived for their country and jersey in all games. They deserve to be remembered." Not just the "Fiery" ones, but everybody who raised Croatian flag on some throne. Let's not taint their success. And, because of that, stop, don't judge, stop reviving the past in every possible subject and live for the present. Screw Ceca, Maca, Tompson, and alike. Dare to resist!
You who are reading this, forgive my sharp language. It is an expression of my sorrow. Dare to understand!
It is over. I am tired. From stupidity, hatred and the past. I don't understand. I can't.
Come on, dare, dare to be some new kid of the future, dare to share this and DARE... TO LOVE!
Love and let others love you!"

I love the talk of unity but I do think that Croatians must acknowledge that during the war they sided with hitler and were Nazis, they are unwilling to do that but I think that if they did it would really help!
