NATO is coming to Serbia: A military exercise in emergency situations in October, especially on survival under the radiation
An exercise under the auspices of NATO, that is, the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordinating Center, the specialized part of the Alliance for Response in Case of Natural Disasters and Technological Incidents, will be held in October in Serbia.
EU responded to Rama's statement that Albania and Kosovo should have one president
An exercise named "Serbia 2018", similar to those performed in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, will be held in the area of Mladenovac and Arandjelovac from October 8 to 11, and the co-organizer of the exercise is the Ministry of Internal Affairs Emergency Situation Department, "Politika" writes.
Preparation of the organization of exercises is in progress, and it will be determined how much will the state participate when the plan conference is held.
The forthcoming international exercise of managing the emergency situations "Serbia 2018" is a civil exercise that provides the opportunity to practice international cooperation and to strengthen the ability of teams from different countries to jointly implement a wide range of operations to eliminate the consequences of emergencies, the MIA notes.
Members of the rescue teams from the ruins, detection and decontamination of radiological-chemical-biological substances, water rescue, and medical teams, will show their skills in front of the colleagues from many countries.
Besides the representatives of the Emergency Situations Department, representatives of international institutions and organizations, as well as representatives of other ministries and organizations of Serbia, are expected.
The Serbian Army wasn't invited to participate in the exercise, but taking in consideration that the tasks from the third mission of the Serbian Army will be trained - the help to the civilian citizens, subsequent involvement of the army is possible.
During this year, the Serbian Army will take part in two exercises held by NATO as an observer, and Serbian soldiers will be engaged in ten other exercises organized by, or participating in, the member countries of this security alliance, but not the Alliance itself.
- I want to continue strengthening the partnership between NATO and Serbia. NATO can provide expertise and advice in all areas that Serbia chooses. Later this year, Serbia will host, for the first time, an important Euro-Atlantic exercise for civilian emergency situations, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said in a recent interview for "Politika".
