Dacic: One state has withdrawn their recognition of Kosovo's independence
Deputy Prime Minister and Head of Serbian Diplomacy Ivica Dacic said that Suriname withdrew its decision to recognize Kosovo's independence.
He pointed out that he received a notification from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of that country "after long work and many discussions."
- The notice of withdrawal of the decision on recognition of Kosovo's independence arrived on October 30th. This decision shows that we must persevere, talk to everyone, if we believe that Kosovo is a national interest - said Dacic.
He also pointed out that by August 2012, more than 80 countries recognized "the state of Kosovo", and during its term "only five".
- This shows that it's not over, as some may say. I am not sure weather Pristina will publish this news. This is a very important event that deserves a special attention, and not mention it on some other events - said Dacic.
According to him, this decision is not an exception, it happened before, but not often.
- In the case of Kosovo, it was like that with São Tomé and Príncipe, after the change of power. We didn't do this with money - there is no money, no pressure - we have nothing to pressure with, but we must endure. We are sorry that many friends during Tito's time recognized Kosovo, but we dealt with the enemies more - said Dacic.
