- Four years ago, I wrapped a bundle of gourds around the tree, it gave flower and a gourd appeared on the Apple tree branch. I was so amazed that I could hardly wait for the next year to decorate the other trees in the small garden I have - said Milivoje Mitic from Prokuplje who has been "decorating" his trees with gourds, he takes good care of them, takes pictures and then picks them up.

- The first flower went to waste due to frost and I somewhat lost hope that I will succeed this year, but the other flower came later which was bound, and a bit later I picked up two gourds - adds Milivoje while he proudly shows his two gourds.

The trick is when a plant begins to grow, put it by the tree. As it grows it wraps around the tree, the flower is bound and the gourds come at the end. The gourds can fall before they are ripe so Milivoje protects them carefully, most often with a knitted bag and he then picks his fruits.

- It's no special technique, but everybody finds it interesting. Especially when someone comes and sees the gourd on a tree, they are amazed, then the stories start, laughter, jokes. So, the gourds help me hang out with people and to amaze and surprise every guest - Milivoje revealed the secret why he put the gourd up in the tree.

He plans on joining the gourd with a walnut tree, and he said that they will go even higher!
