The state border agreement between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed on the interstate level on July 30, 1999, by the then Presidency Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Alija Izetbegovic and the President of Croatia Franjo Tudjman

If Croatia continues its activities on the construction of the Peljesac Bridge, the Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH) Ministry of Civil Affairs will propose a unilateral declaration of sovereignty of BiH in that part of the Adriatic in the manner that the former Yugoslav states did, and it does not exclude the possibility of initiating the process before the competent judicial institutions -warned today the Minister of Resources Adil Osmanovic.

Osmanovic informed Croatian counterpart Oleg Butkovic about the existence of legal obstacles to the construction of the Peljesac bridge.

"If your ministry, that is, the competent authorities and bodies of the Republic of Croatia, continue to carry out activities in relation to the construction of the Peljesac bridge unilaterally, I regretfully inform you that the Ministry of Civil Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina will be forced, in accordance with its competencies, to initiate the activities of leaving From the Treaty on the State Border between the Republic of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina ... ", reads Osmanovic's letter.

He further states that in this case, the unilateral proclamation of the sovereign rights of Bosnia and Herzegovina under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea will be taken through a special normative act and, as noted by all former Yugoslav countries that have entered the Adriatic Sea, Portal Klix.ba.

He also pointed out that it was not excluded at a later stage that the protection of Bosnia and Herzegovina's law at sea, under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, would be requested before the competent judicial authorities in accordance with the relevant provisions of international law.

He also stated that at the level of the Interstate Diplomatic Commission for the identification, marking and maintenance of the state border between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, a proposal of the State Border Treaty between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia was agreed in June 1999.

An integral part of this proposal was a map with 86 geodetic maps in the scale of 1: 25000 where the boundary line was drawn up.

The proposal on the State Border Agreement between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia, along with a map of graphic annexes, was signed by the authorized representatives of the delegations of both countries, and as witnesses, the proposal was signed by representatives of the Office of the High Representative in BiH, who followed the entire process.

In other words, the state border agreement between Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina was signed on the interstate level on July 30, 1999, by the then Presidency Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Alija Izetbegovic and the President of Croatia Franjo Tudjman.
