Guests are sleeping in the rooms that have only one light bulb and which is powered by a battery. Awnings instead of glass on windows are the same that were given to people in Sarajevo during the war so they can replace the broken windows.
During the night guests of the hostel are using candles to move around the room or to read. On the walls of "War Hostel" there are newspaper articles from the war period describing war days in Sarajevo from 1992 to 1995.
