SWINDLERS TOOK THE MONEY GRANDMA SAVED FOR THE FUNERAL: They took 2.600 Euros from her!

The latest target was M. M. (79) from the municipality of Novi Beograd, an older lady from whom the swindlers took 2.600 Euros through roulette.

- I was like under a spell. They made me play their game where I lost the money. They put me in a room and made me throw a stick on the board. This is how I lost the money I was saving for the funeral. I do not dare to say anything to my children - said this pensioner who did not want her identity to be revealed.

She explained that the members of the crime group pick their victims from the street, and they become aware of that only when the game is over.

In her case ,everything happened on December 15, at the block 44, while she was coming back from the hospital.

- I was standing at the crossroads of Gararin and Nehru street when a young man approached me and told me I was "lucky winner". He got me under my arm, and took me to a building of a mall.  He told me that I had won a fridge. He took me to a small room where there was a table, and the round board with red, black, and white fields. Three men and a woman were sitting there, and another man was behind me. "Let us play, let us play, he first round is 10 Euros", they said. I did not have the money, so the man behind me said that he would lend me. They started throwing sticks on that board and the goal was to hit the red field. The game commenced, and I was not even aware, like I was hypnotized - said M.M.

Then, everything followed the same pattern - the other woman supposedly got 300 Euros, and the man 1000.

They all got the money, but that was just a show for a naive spectator.

- All the time I was losing, and the man who gave the money soon gave 2.600 Euros. I told them I did not have the money so I had to take it from the bank - said the victim of the fraud and added that she called the police right the next morning.

In a similar manner she got a fake gold necklace, but the thieves stole her real necklace from her neck.

She identified the swindlers and they were arrested at the Terazije square, while trying to rob another victim.
