A 4-year-old drank himself sensless, parents in shock!

A boy at the age of 4 from a village Žitni Potok, near Prokuplje, was admitted to a local hospital in the state of coma, after he drank an unknown quantity of alcohol.

The spokesman of the hospital, dr Jelena Milosavljević, confirmed that the child was driven to the hospital by the ambulance.

- He was taken from the village by ambulance and at the half way to the hospital another vehicle was waiting for him. At that moment he was  barely conscious - said dr Milosavljević.

Unofficially, the boy accidentally got himself a bottle of alcohol in the family house, and the parents, having seen that he was not feeling well, called the ambulance right away.

Taking the fact into consideration that this is a village in a mountain area, first aid was administered by people in the local hospital, only until he was transferred to Prokuplje.

- This is a precedent as consummation of alcohol of young people is concerned, because it has never happened in Prokuplje that a child this old had problems with alcohol. All the competent services will take part in this case to get to the bottom of how it happened at the first place that the child of that age could freely take alcohol. For now it is important that the child gets better- says a well informed source.

Never earlier has it happened that youngsters drink alcohol that much, especially not at that age.

Even the former "habit" of certain parents giving their children a sip of beer from time to time vanished long time ago.
