TWO DEAD FROM A MYSTERIOUS INFECTION: Infection taking lives in BG!

In the surgery department of the ER of the Clinical Center of Serbia in the period from June 7th to 11th, 103 patients were operated on, out which six had infections followed by complications, and two died, said the Director of the Emergency Center Milika Ašanin for "Blic".

Ašanin said that one of the deceased patients was middle-aged, while the other was around sixty, and that they both had chronic diseases.

- We have some results but I will not comment until everything is fully completed - said Ašanin and pointed out that there will be more information on Monday when all investigation are completed.

KCS announced yesterday that the patients treated at Surgery department in the Emergency Center, Clinical Center of Serbia, in the period from the June 7th to 11th, have registered "uncommon" increased number of infections accompanied by complications. Department of Hospital Epidemiology and Clinical Center City Institute of Public Health of Belgrade undertook all  necessary measures to prevent and control the spread of infection and the Ministry of Health and the Institute of Public Health have been informed.
