ZVORNIK- THE GUNPOWDER KEG: Because of Arkan and the Wahhabis, this city is a potential ticking time bomb in the Balkans! (VIDEO)
Following the murder of police officer Dragan Djuric, who was shot by Wahhabi Nerdin Ibric (24), once again confirmed that the city of Republika Srpska is a gunpowder keg, with a turbulent past and uncertain future, around which have many nations struggled historically.

Zvornik is one of the oldest cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina rather Republika Srpska. He was and remains a crossroads. The municipality has a population of about 65,000 of which about 15,000 live in the city, while 40,000 inhabitants are distributed in 58 rural settlements. In 1992, in Zvornik lived 48,000 Bosniaks, and today, according to the census of 2013, the territory of the municipality has a population of 21,000.
From rare material remains from earlier periods, we can reliably assert that the area where Zvornik is today was settled since ancient times.
In history, Zvornik was first mentioned in 1410, under the name of Zvonik (bell tower). According to one variant, the borough was named after a lonely belfry of some ruined church, which by assumption was built in the late 7th and early 8th century, and according to another version, the town was named after the Franciscan convent, built at the beginning of 15th century, and by the third version of the terrain on which it was built in the shape of a bell.
Yet, there exists another version that was named after the numerous sources of cold water ("izvornik-source").
Zvornik was an important strategic point - the crossroads that were fought over by Serbian despots, Turks and Austro-Hungarians. In recent history, during the war in former Yugoslavia, Zvornik was the place where crimes against Muslims and the killing thousands of people took place.
The number of reported and missing persons from the area of Zvornik municipality from 1992 to 1995 was 1,998, of whom 1,400 were identified, while another 600 persons are considered missing.
The former head of the police station in Zvornik, Marinko Vasilic said earlier in the trial of Radovan Karadzic before the Hague Tribunal that in that city in 1992 were committed serious crimes against Bosniaks, but blamed it on paramilitary forces which local authorities could not oppose.
He said that after the "liberation" of Zvornik, in early April 1992, the "command" was taken over by Zeljko Raznatovic-Arkan and his "guards", and then the other paramilitaries like "Yellow Wasps" (Zutih Osa).
According to Branko Grujic, who was president of the Crisis Staff of the Serbian municipality of Zvornik, Arkan insisted to take over Zvornik by military force.
The TRUTH about ARKAN'S MURDER: Here's how and why the Serbian Commander was killed!
- Arkan appeared at the door of the Crisis Staff. As soon as he entered the room of the Crisis Staff, he asked: Who is the president? I said, I am. He answered: Not anymore! From that moment, Arkan took matters into his own hands and commanded all sorts of things - said Branko Grujic, former head of the crisis staff in Zvornik.
From that moment on, according to Grujic, began the persecution of Bosniaks and war crimes in Zvornik. The city authorities were helpless before the rampage of paramilitary groups such as "Arkan" and "Yellow Wasps". According to Grujic, they terrorized the Serbian population as well, and so the people were battered by terrible crimes.
Today, with such a turbulent history, Zvornik represents a mini ticking time-bomb in the Balkans. Located right in the center - where it is excellently connected to Sarajevo, Novi Sad and Belgrade, Zvornik is a city of enviable geostrategic position.
Near Zvornik lies Bratunac, the place where during the war, a lot of Serbs were suddenly killed, and this terrible crime spawned and retaliated - the crime committed in Srebrenica.
In what way can we improve life in Zvornik and how to ease tensions, remains to be seen.
