Linta: Croatia must stop celebrating "Operation Storm"
"Storm" was an act of aggression and an illegitimate operation against a UN-protected zone because its primary goal was not to establish Croatia's territorial integrity, but to purge Serbs, Linta said in a statement.
In its ruling on Croatia's lawsuit and Serbia's counter-suit, the International Court of Justice has unambiguously established that mass anti-Serb crimes were committed during and after Croatia's "Operation Storm" and that it cannot be considered a legitimate operation aimed at liberating territories, Linta noted.
According to a report of the Croatian Helsinki Committee, 677 Serb civilians were killed during and after "Operation Storm," Linta said, noting that there has only been one final verdict in Croatia so far - for the murders of two old people in the Prokljan village and a prisoner of war in the Mandici village.
At this rate, it would take thousands of years for Serb victims to see justice, Linta concluded.
