Janko Tipsarevic played with less than 80% of his heel: This is how his leg looks like now! (PHOTO) (VIDEO)
Is there anyone happier than him at this moment?! After a 17-month break, Janko Tipsarevic returned to what he did best, playing tennis. His return to the tennis court was the main news on the ATP tour. The young man who was categorized among the World's Top Ten tennis players, had an amazing comeback with a win over Guillaume Clezar, but only he knows the kind of "tantalizing" problems he's gone through in the past year and a half.
The huge problem with his heel, was that there surfaced a benign tumor causing his career to be threatened at one point in time. Although his return has sparked feelings of happiness and triumph, showing that he's still got more to give to the tennis community and his career, a few months ago things weren't so peachy.
Many were shocked when the Serbian tennis player revealed an amazing fact that doctors said that they could not guarantee that his cancer would not return in the same place, which was already operated on twice, and that a third operation would be impossible. But they were even more stunned when he informed them that he now plays with less than 80% of his heel.
-Luckily, this is not life threatening. But the reality is that I would never be able to play tennis. After the second operation, 80% of my heel was removed. That's why it took so long for me to get back to tennis- tells heroic Janko.
His return was followed enthusiastically, and with amazement by his colleagues, especially those of the Davis Cup team Serbia, Novak Djokovic, who watched the entire match, Nenad Zimonjic, Viktor Troicki, in addition to other legendary coaches such as Brad Gilbert, who said that everyone should look at his rally behind his back even after such a long break.
Here is a look at the entire point. Great to have @TipsarevicJanko back on tour! He won 64 36 76(7) and saved 2 M.P.s pic.twitter.com/CUU4anUQLE
