It is well known that character of the famous intelligence agent James Bond was based on Serbian Dusko Popov. However, not many people know that Serbia had their own spy inside the NATO upon whom ''Moj Rodjak sa sela'' series were made. Telegraf.rs brings you the story of colonel Vranic from the series and general Jovan Milanovic in real life!

A general in the Serbian army, Jovan Milanovic, is surely the most prominent intelligence agent that resembles James Bond. He wrecked the NATO in such way that even Carla Del Ponte had to react.

This brave general was a deputy director of the Yugoslavia army intelligence and was the first agent that cracked all of the NATO's codes. By brilliant action in 1988 he managed to get his hands onto well-guarded NATO plans for its actions against Yugoslavia. That was allegedly the main reason why the aggression started in March 1999 instead October 1998.

- Indeed, that fourth year in Brussels I felt as if I placed a net and waited for fly or something bigger to get caught up in it - said this brave general for ''Vesti''

According to his statements, Serbia came to an idea of having its own spy inside the euro-atlantic integration, and the final decision was made when NATO intervened in Republic of Srpska in 1994.

He described brave act of revealing the plans of the world's strongest alliance in his book ''Serbia and NATO'', extended version.

- I am probably one of the officers that have been in war with NATO for the longest period of time. By the decision of the Defense command at the beginning of 1995, I was sent to Brussels. That was after defense estimated that the aggression against Serbia is likely to happen . My mission was to create an intelligence net in the structures of NATO, European Union, Partnership for Peace and other institutions in Brussels that deal in geopolitics. I have completed that mission - he wrote.

- By the end of 1998 and the beginning of planned aggression, my diplomatic web had tens of diplomats in the highest ranks in NATO and other Brussels' diplomatic missions. The French general, head of their delegation in NATO, fiercely refused to be a part in such villainous act. He was following the orders from France, of course. In my attempts to meet him, I have made acquaintances with his Chief of cabinet, major Pier Henry Binel. I have called him to come to one restaurant and provide me with the aggression plan. I have told him: ''I know the dates, the objects, goals, phases, forces..'' He looked at me and asked: ''What don't you know?'' When I told him I knew everything he asked me what I needed. I told him I needed the original plans. Binel did his part. When I had left the house, I brought two bags. One was garbage , the other was full of NATO plans. I went through them in the embassy that night and sorted them according to the procedures. I sent them to Belgrade in the morning.

As general Milanovic said, during four years he had spent in Brussels, only once was he confronted by the Americans. The connection was young diplomat of Serbian origins, second generation of immigrants from Republika Srpska Krajina.

- After several meetings at formal receptions and lunches, he invited me to come to dinner with my wife. I immediately knew what was it all about, but curiosity gave me no peace, I had to go. I brought them Shljivovitza as gift (Serbian brandy). I quickly realized that not only  guests were American officers but their wives were in it too, they spoke Serbian perfectly - said this Serbian agent. Those people were the team prepared for special missions in Serbia.
