IVANA SPANOVIC STARTS AT EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS: Tough norm awaits everyone else but us!
Best Serbian athlete Ivana Spanovic arrived in Prague at Thursday evening and today from 12:15 she starts her performance at The European Championships
Spanovic will compete to enter the finals among 23 long jumpers. Only 8 competitors will enter the finals, unlike the open championships which accepts 12 from the qualifying rounds.
The norm for the finals is 6,65 meters and Ivana's coach told his expectations.
- The norm is tough for the finals, for everyone else but us - Obradovic stated for 'Sportski zurnal' and added:
- The indoors 6.50 equals 6.60 at the outdoors. The hosts chose the norm that's this high because there are a lot of competitors. I don't expect that all of the jumpers achieve that in three attempts in the noon. For entering the finals we won't be needing that much - told the Serbia's best athlete's coach.
The runway in Malem is similar to one in Malme, where Spanovic excelled and reached her season's best of 6.83, so we can expect good results in Prague too.
